International collaborative project among video artists from
México, Canada, and the United States which took place on February
11th, 2002, at the Aula Magna of the National Center for the Arts, organized
by the Moving Images Workshop of the Multimedia Center of the National
Center for the Arts, with TECH-MEX.
...:..:. During the
morning there were a series of presentations by artists: Fabián
Castro (MX) presented the “y...¿quién es María
Luisa?” (“and…who is Maria Luisa?”) project. Joanna
Empain (CAN) spoke about the Perte de Signal collective, and Rachel Melman
(USA) about “Microcinema and Cultural Exchange in USA”
...:..:. In the afternoon the Mexican
premier of the “Je me souviens” Cadáver Exquisito took
place, after which a panel discusión with the videoartists involved
was held.
...:..:. During that same day the suitcases
and the Mexican and Canadian Cadavers were presented in the Galeria AB
of the Multimedia Center. From February 14th to the 24th, video compilations
from Video Lounge, Perte de Signal and Tech-Mex were presented.
...:..:. This event promoted dialogue
and interchange among video artists from the three countries involved,
as well as the continuation of the Cadáver Exquisito to be culminated
in New York a year later.
